Frequently Asked Questions...
Newborn FAQ
Newborns are truly Christy's passion to photograph. Her love for this phase of life shows in the way she handles, comforts, soothes, and poses these tiny babies. Many cliets leave their sessions convinced she is a "baby whisperer." Newborns stay new for such a short time. Christy loves to capture all the special details of your perfect little one before they begin to change.
When Should I Call to Schedule my Newborn Session?
Sessions should be scheduled before your baby is born! It is so important to plan ahead. Christy custom plans every session and needs time to collect elements that will be perfect for your session. In addition, capturing your newborn within the first two weeks of life while they are still sleepy and curled up can make all the difference in your portraits. Christy's schedule tends to fill up about a month in advance so please call during the last trimester of your pregnancy. Since arrival times are unpredictable, we will place you on the calendar to hold a spot for you. When your baby arrives, we will move your appointment accordingly.
What Do I Need to Bring for my Newborn Session?
Newborns are photographed best either wrapped, naked or in custom outfits made especially for them. Christy supplies everything you need for your session which makes planning very easy for you. That being said, if you have clothes, blankets, or special items worked into the session, please let Christy know at the preconsultaion so she can plan your session accordingly. Aside from that, a pacifier and bottle if needed. If you are going to be in the session, it is recommended to bring the clothes you want to wear on hangers and change right before your session.
General FAQ
What Happens at the Pre-Consultaion?
This is where the fun starts! We get to sit back and relax and talk bout how we can create the ideal session for you. We want to know everything about you -your style, your family, your kids, your hobbies-everything! We talk about clothes for the session, and we discuss what your vision is for your finished art pieces. When your session day arrives, we'll have a plan so everything goes smoothly.
What Kind of Investment Do Most Clients Make?
Most clients invest anywhere from $400 - $1000 on their session. However, everyone's needs are different; some spend a little more, and some spend a little less.
Why Can It Be So Expensive?
Quality, custom photography by an experienced portrait artist is not for everyone. It takes an enormous amount of time and creative commitment to produce a cutom art piece. We are priced in order to continue the premium service we off to our clients. For example, there are discount stores, department stores and boutiques. We are the "boutique" of photography studios with a fine art product, and the service that come with the model.
